FREE THANK YOU CARD TEMPLATES
Since not all job candidates will know to send a post-interview thank you card, you will move to the top of the list as being thoughtful, interested and detail oriented if you do!
Post-Interview Thank You - Everyone appreciates a 'Thank You.' After your interview, it is always recommended and fully appropriate to follow up with a "business like" (no balloons or puppies) thank you card to show your interviewer how much you appreciated their time. You should send the card as soon after the interview as possible and a card should be sent to everyone that played a key role with your interview. Customize each note to the specific participant.
The note should be hand written, but if your handwriting leaves something to be desired, it's acceptable to print your note and hand sign. You should keep your comments brief. Thank them for their time, add anything you feel you didn't get a chance to address during the interview (only if it's important and relevant), underscore why you'd be a good fit, and state your continued or elevated interest in the job.
You should also send a thank you even if you're not interested in the position. In this case, DO NOT state that you are not interested in moving forward. You could insult a hiring manager for a job that may not even be offered to you. Simply thank them for their time, compliment their company, and sign. You never know; they may have another position that opens in the future that you would like or the hiring manager could end up at another company that you would like to work for. Make a good impression and don't burn bridges.
Networking Thank You - Did you learn about a job opening from someone you know? Did someone give you some good advice? Maintain your successful networking relationships by quickly following up with a thank you note. Your networking team will work harder for you if they know you truly appreciate their efforts.

Interview Thank You: |
|
Dear Mr. Keller,
I enjoyed speaking with you yesterday regarding the sales position. I came away from our meeting with much information and even more enthusiasm. The possibility of working for Keller International is a great opportunity, and I want you to know that I am interested in the job.
I meant to mention to you that I have had recent experience with CRM programs; so, I am confident that I can quickly adjust to your new CRM software.
Thank you for spending the time with me during the interview. I hope you feel, like I do, that my skills and interest are a good fit. I look forward to seeing you again.
Sincerely, |

Advice Thank You: |
|
Dear Mr. Cromby,
I wanted to thank you for the recent advice you gave me regarding my job search in the insurance field. Insurance companies can certainly have their own distinct cultures and hierarchy, and your advice of sending my resume directly to the hiring manager at Bluebird Insurance, so it won't get hung up in the HR Department, is very well taken.
If you should think of anything else that you feel could help my search or if you hear of any opportunities, please just give me a call. Thanks again for your interest and support.
Sincerely,
|

Dear Jack,
I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate your speaking with Mike Flynn at Maxell Corporation regarding my sales background and experience. Mike called me last evening and asked me to meet with him on Friday to discuss the opportunity.
From the job description he gave me, I think Maxell could be a great fit with my career objectives and interests. Please be assured I'll keep you informed of my progress, and thanks so much for supporting my job search.
Best regards,
