Printing Your Letterhead

Although printing is the last step of the process, you should consider which printing method you'll use while you're making some of the design decisions.  How you print your letterhead may determine whether you can use color, clip art, or even photo images in your design.

Remember that the watermark you see when you hold the paper to the light should be right reading on the same side as your printed logo.  Check how your printer feeds the paper and load the tray so it prints on the same side as the watermark.

With minimal effort and expense, you can generate professional-looking results using your own computer and inkjet or laser printer.  However, if your printer does not produce the desired result or you are printing a large quantity of paper, your local print shop might be able to provide affordable on-site desktop publishing and printing.  If you bring in your paper and letterhead design on a disk, they'll let you use their computers and printers for an hourly fee.
